Austin Federa, the strategic head of the Solana Foundation, has left to establish a new protocol called DoubleZero
ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, Solana Foundation's strategic head Austin Federa has left the project to co-found a new protocol and network called DoubleZero, aimed at managing high-performance, permissionless networks.
In a statement on X on December 4, Federa said that leaving Solana after four years was "one of the hardest career decisions I had to make," but the new role will allow him to still engage with the network "from a different perspective."
According to Federa, his new project DoubleZero is not an L1 or L2 protocol, but a new type of global foundational layer network optimized for blockchain, designed to increase bandwidth and reduce latency.
