ChainCatcher news, a recently released tax return shows that OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's compensation last year was $76,001, slightly higher than $73,546 in 2022.
Altman, whose net worth is at least $2 billion, has previously stated that his compensation "depends on the minimum standard for health insurance." He has also repeatedly mentioned that he does not own equity in OpenAI.
However, according to Bloomberg, the artificial intelligence startup has discussed granting him shares as part of a potential transition to a for-profit entity. Reportedly, Altman's salary is included in a document that U.S. non-profit organizations must submit to the IRS each year.
