The Web3 and Virtual Assets Development Subcommittee visited the Cyberport, with HashKey Exchange as the corporate representative for in-depth discussions
On November 12, the Legislative Council's Web3 and Virtual Assets Development Subcommittee visited Cyberport to learn about the latest developments and future trends in promoting Web3.0 applications. Ms. Alice Chang, Deputy Secretary for Innovation and Technology, and Mr. Zhang Yiwei, Deputy Policy Commissioner (Digital Infrastructure) of the Digital Policy Office, also joined the delegation for discussions. HashKey Exchange, representing Web3 startups, participated in the dialogue between the Legislative Council Subcommittee and Cyberport's Web3 startups.

During the dialogue session, Mr. Ru Haiyang, Chief Risk Officer of HashKey Group, shared the company's development history and strategic plan for 2025 with the committee members and expressed gratitude for Cyberport's support for Web3 startups.
Mr. Chan Sze Yuen, Chief Public Mission Officer of Cyberport, delivered a welcome speech, introducing Cyberport's work and the development of the local Web3.0 ecosystem. Subsequently, Ms. Zhu Meien, Chief Corporate Development Officer of Cyberport, hosted the discussion session, along with representatives from two Cyberport unicorns (HashKey and CertiK) and three community enterprises (Artifact Labs, TraditioNow, and Regtitude), exchanging views with the Subcommittee Chairman Mr. Wu Jiezhuang and eight Legislative Council members on how to promote investment matching, cybersecurity, and the application of blockchain systems, including the challenges faced by innovation and technology enterprises.
Mr. Ru Haiyang stated that the Legislative Council plays an important role in formulating the regulatory framework, laying the foundation for enhancing investor confidence and improving market transparency. He also mentioned gratitude for Cyberport's technical and resource support, which helps startups grow in a compliant environment and promotes local innovation and project incubation. It is reported that Cyberport received a grant of HK$50 million from the SAR government in 2023 to accelerate the development of the local Web3.0 ecosystem and established the "Web3.0 Investment Circle (W3IC)" to promote Web3.0-related investments. As a local Web3.0 enterprise in Hong Kong, HashKey Exchange has steadily developed with the support of Cyberport, enhancing its competitiveness and innovation capabilities. In the future, HashKey Exchange will continue to make good use of these resources to expand its business and promote technological advancement.
