HIVE Digital has signed a procurement agreement with Canaan Technology to purchase 6,500 Avalon A1566 mining machines
ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, ASIC miner manufacturer Canaan has signed a procurement agreement with HIVE Digital to provide 6,500 Avalon A1566 miners, with an average hash rate of 185 TH/s. Currently, the first batch of 500 miners has been delivered and is scheduled for installation, while the remaining 6,000 will be delivered in batches from December to March 2025. As a result of this news, Canaan's Nasdaq stock (CAN) rose 38% to $1.74.
It is reported that HIVE Digital has announced the commencement of a new 100 MW expansion project in Paraguay, which is expected to be fully operational by the third quarter of 2025, with a target hash rate of 12.5 EH/s and equipment efficiency of 17.6 J/TH.
