US Election Update: Philadelphia Election Officials Promise Significant Improvement in 2024 Vote Counting Speed

Bluestein emphasized that as soon as the polling stations opened at 7 AM on election day, staff would immediately begin preprocessing mail-in ballots.
Bluestein pointed out that the main reasons for the accelerated counting include:
- More voters returning to in-person voting, resulting in a decrease in mail-in ballots.
- The city government has purchased new ballot counting equipment, improving efficiency.
- The number of ballot counting staff has increased.
He expects that if everything goes smoothly, most mail-in ballot counting could be completed by noon on Wednesday (November 6). Bluestein also emphasized that the elections in Philadelphia and throughout Pennsylvania will ensure freedom, fairness, and safety, expressing complete confidence in the fairness of the elections.
