Dialogue "Drugging Case" Victim Hana: Three Hours on the Edge of Hell "He must be a repeat offender! There are more victims."
Author: Colin Wu
Wu said that according to @hananotsorry Hana's tweet, on the evening of October 24, a DWF partner placed unidentified objects into her drink multiple times at a bar in Hong Kong. DWF responded: the partner has been accused of inappropriate and unacceptable behavior, and during the investigation, DWF Labs decided to immediately terminate the partner's management and operational duties.
The specific process is as follows: both parties were drinking at the bar, the woman went to the restroom, and the man took an unidentified object from his pocket and placed it into the woman's drink three times in a row. After the woman returned and took a few sips, the man stepped outside to take a phone call, and then the waiter alerted her to the man's actions. The woman reported to the police in Hong Kong on October 29 and retrieved the surveillance footage; she stated that two waiters also witnessed the incident. Wu said he reviewed the relevant footage and confirmed that the aforementioned behavior occurred.
The video shows that the man involved is DWF partner Eugene Ng. In addition to being a DWF partner, Eugene Ng is also a co-founder of the RWA project OpenEden, which is invested in by Binance. OpenEden has suspended Eugene Ng from his position at the company and removed him from management and operations at the company and its affiliates. DWFLabs announced on social media that Lingling Jiang will officially replace him as a partner, responsible for leading strategic business development.

Hana: I shouldn't fully consider myself part of the crypto circle yet; I work at a traditional dollar fund, but I'm looking for a job in the crypto space.
I met DWF during the Hong Kong Blockchain Week in April this year. Later, at KBW, I met Eugene at an event. He had invited me to dinner, and we had a good conversation. We also met at Token2049 in Singapore. He told me he had sent my resume to many people. During this time, he did give me some alpha, but I didn't understand it and didn't make any trades.
We kept in touch; he would check in on me every two or three days, often asking how I was doing and if I was happy. At that time, I didn't feel he had any ulterior motives; overall, I thought he was very much a gentleman.
Before everything happened in the bar on October 24, I had no defenses; I never thought he would drug me.
When it was time for the Solana hackathon, Eugene told me, just buy a plane ticket, and he would take care of everything else. He asked when I would arrive, and I said I would be there on the morning of the 24th, and then he suggested we could have dinner together.
On the evening of October 24, around 8:15 PM, he sent me the address of the bar, and I went there. Throughout the process, there was nothing suspicious, except for that one statement. He also asked if I needed to drop my luggage at his hotel. I still booked my own hotel.
I arrived at the bar before him. I messaged him saying I really liked the bar. It was very well designed, bright, and I liked the overall decor and music.
Around 8:25 PM, Eugene arrived at the bar, and we started talking about the people we met at the Solana event. I felt he was trying hard to help me find a suitable job; that was my impression, and I cherished the opportunity.
He began talking about his family, saying he might retire from the industry in a couple of years, discussing his faith and how he goes to church every week. He mentioned that his marriage was very unhappy, that his wife was very wealthy, and they had two children, often arguing because they couldn't agree on many things. He said he came from a very poor background, having slept in hostels, airports, and even on the street. He said he bought his wife a big villa. In short, he expressed that he was very successful in his career but very miserable at home. He also told me that their sex life was not good, and they slept in separate beds. Looking back, this might have been a tactic.
Around 10 PM, he said he had a project conference call and started making calls from his seat. At around 10:15 PM, I went to the restroom (the time of drugging), and a few minutes later, I returned to my seat.
We then drank again, and I had about a third of my drink.
At this point, Eugene said the bar was too noisy and stepped outside to take a call.
As soon as he stepped out, a waiter rushed up to me and told me in English: I think the guy put something in your drink.
The waiter said that a French couple at the next table saw what happened and informed her. The waiter checked the surveillance footage before deciding to tell me and helped me switch to another drink.
Appendix: The surveillance footage reviewed by Wu shows that after Hana left, Eugene took out a suspected drug from his thigh pocket, looked around, picked up Hana's drink, and placed a suspected powdery substance into it three times before quickly putting it back on the table and wiping his hands with a napkin. Hana returned and drank from that cup. The entire drugging process took less than a minute.
I was stunned at that moment, resting my head against the side, frozen for dozens of seconds, my mind blank. I couldn't believe it because in many ways, he made me feel like a pretty good person.
I even thought there was a good chance this was a misunderstanding, that someone had seen it wrong. Because if this was true, it would be terrifying.
I felt I couldn't wrong Eugene, so I had to confirm whether this was true or not. When he returned, I asked him if I could switch drinks, and he immediately became very nervous, snatching his drink away, nearly spilling it.
Then I suggested I could order a new drink. He immediately opposed, insisting I shouldn't waste that drink and urged me to finish it.
At that moment, I no longer had any illusions; I even started to feel a bit scared because I had already consumed a third of the drink (the drugged drink). The entire struggle lasted a long time; he kept asking me why I wasn't drinking and was very anxious for me to drink.
Around 11:45 PM, I said I was full and wanted to leave, so I tried to call an Uber, but it was particularly difficult to get one at that time. I stepped outside, and Hong Kong has various steps and slopes; I felt dizzy and squatted down. Eugene kept telling me not to squat and to stand up, pulling me up and making me lean on him.
I felt very uncomfortable, my head was spinning, and I was really scared, wanting to push him away, but I had no strength. He placed my hand on his shoulder. I tried to calm myself down and then squatted down again; this happened about three times. But I still couldn't get a ride, and I was anxious.
Eugene started saying things like: I'll help you get a ride, I have a suite at the Murray, if you treat me better, I can give you more insider information. He kept saying how hard it is for girls, that you don't need to work on crypto projects, I can give you alpha to make money. This had been mentioned many times, including how tough it is in the crypto space.
Later, I canceled the Uber and directly called a taxi, finally getting one. I glanced at the time, six minutes away, but I still told him I hadn't gotten a ride, trying to lower his guard and delay the time.
My car was finally arriving, and I was scared he would do something to me again. I was indeed very dizzy, so I kept squatting on the ground, and he kept pulling me up. I hugged my legs and refused to stand up.
So he squatted down, supporting me, getting very close to me, and I was feeling dizzy, enduring for six minutes.
He kept insisting I go to his hotel; I said I had already booked a place and couldn't cancel. Then he said he would cover all my expenses and transfer me USDT. I was already very angry at that point and firmly said, stop saying that.
I told him my ride was coming. He still wanted to get in the car with me, even opening the door for me. I said no, I can do it myself. Then I got in; my legs were already weak. I was terrified he would get in too, so with the last bit of strength, I slammed the door shut and told the driver: go!
The driver probably had experienced something similar before, flooring it, and I felt like I was on a roller coaster.
After returning, I lay on the sofa for about twenty minutes, mainly feeling dizzy. Although I don't have a high tolerance for alcohol, I wasn't completely powerless. That kind of weakness and inability to exert strength was not the state of being drunk.
At that time, I felt very lucky; if this incident had happened, the consequences would have been unimaginable. I felt really disgusted. I was very grateful that the waiter informed me.
I also felt very scared; I never thought about how to confront him because I'm nobody; no one in the crypto circle would listen to me.
Although I didn't watch the surveillance footage at that time, I was curious how he managed to put that thing in my drink because the lighting was so bright; normal people wouldn't dare to do that.
I thought about it, and he should be an experienced person; he might have harmed many people already, and he might continue to do so. I felt that wasn't right, so I made my first call to my best friend in the circle.
He said he would accompany me to Hong Kong, so I booked a flight for the morning of October 29. After landing, I had a meal to calm down and drank a cup of coffee. I first went to the bar, but it wasn't open. So I went directly to the police station.

The police recorded all the information, and I recounted what happened. I took the report receipt to the bar to check the surveillance footage. Upon entering, I was surprised to see the same waitress who had alerted me earlier (possibly of Filipino descent)! Eugene had mentioned he was friends with a shareholder of the bar, and I was a bit scared they might have colluded.
Seeing the waitress, I was very excited because she was a good person. Initially, when I entered, I was prepared to pretend I had lost something (fearing collusion), but seeing her, I didn't pretend and told her directly.
She also expressed her surprise, saying they had never encountered such an incident. Everyone was shocked; no one would dare to do such a thing in such bright lighting.
She immediately asked me what happened afterward, and I explained everything. Without hesitation, she brought over the iPad with the surveillance footage, and the other waiters gathered around, all watching me.
We quickly found the "drugging segment."
Before this, I still held some hope for a person, but when I really saw Eugene's face and his hand (putting drugs into my drink three times), the feeling was like you had really eaten shit.
The waiters were all in shock, saying, so fucked up, I've never seen anyone doing this. They kept saying this person must be a habitual offender; the smoothness of his actions indicated he had done this many times before and had succeeded, which is why he dared to do it so openly without fear. In such a state, he completed these actions so quickly.
I took the video and returned to the police station. The police said I was really lucky to be able to see he was a habitual offender, very skilled. The police indicated they would assist me in the investigation. Unfortunately, because I didn't report it on the same day and lacked physical evidence, although there were witnesses and surveillance, he would definitely deny it. The most important thing was the physical evidence, that cup of drink. The police were also concerned about my safety, advising me to be careful, as publicly disclosing the surveillance footage might violate personal privacy.
I thought, regardless of whether the police could arrest him, I had to speak out. So, on the evening of October 29, I tweeted about the incident. The speed at which the news spread was completely beyond my expectations, as I only had over 50 followers. I had been worried that no one would see it after I posted it, but fortunately, my friends supported me and helped share it.
The most unexpected part of the process was that someone created a token based on my tweet. A friend told me I needed to clarify that this had nothing to do with me.
After posting the tweet, Eugene contacted me, saying, let me know if you're up to chat. He sent me a few similar messages and called me several times, but I didn't answer.
I felt that with the current speed of dissemination, the traffic must have exploded. I was still very satisfied; I felt everyone was very positive in helping to share, and I was very happy and relieved. This was very different from what I had imagined because I was very scared, afraid that no one would care.
