Gary Gensler acknowledged the political pressure from the cryptocurrency industry and other sectors, while still defending the SEC's regulatory measures
ChainCatcher News, U.S. SEC Chairman Gary Gensler recently spoke at a fintech conference in Las Vegas, reiterating his commitment to continue working at the SEC during his tenure and defending its enforcement measures. With the November 5 elections approaching, he acknowledged the political pressure, particularly from the cryptocurrency industry, stating, "Democracy has consequences, but we will continue to do what we do best at the SEC until the referee blows the whistle."
As the elections draw near, both the Republican and Democratic parties have expressed dissatisfaction with Gensler. Trump vowed to fire him on his first day in office, and some cryptocurrency industry figures supporting Vice President Harris have also indicated their support for his removal under a potential new administration.
