Vitalik: The implementation of light client verification requires steps such as L2 configuration on-chain to achieve generalization
ChainCatcher news, a16z engineer @NoahCitron stated on the X platform that Helios is becoming a multi-chain light client for Ethereum. Light clients are the foundation for Ethereum's scalability. The future with thousands of Rollups seems not far off, and as we get closer to this goal, Rollup interoperability will become increasingly important.
Vitalik responded that this is an important step, with subsequent steps including: integrating Helios (or alternatives) into user wallets, putting L2 configurations on-chain, and establishing verification rules for L2 configuration specification state proofs. Once completed, it will enable universal light client validation for both L1 and L2.
