CNBC: OpenAI disbands AGI preparation team
ChainCatcher news, OpenAI is disbanding its "AGI Readiness" team, with members being reassigned to other teams within OpenAI. This team was previously responsible for assessing OpenAI's ability to handle increasingly powerful AI technologies and evaluating the world's readiness for such technologies.
It is reported that the chief advisor of the AGI Readiness team, Miles Brundage, announced his departure in a Substack post, stating that the main reason for his departure was the belief that his external research could have a greater impact, the opportunity cost was too high, and he wished to reduce bias, feeling that he had already achieved his goals at OpenAI.
