ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, in a document submitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on October 23, Judge John Koeltl ordered former Celsius CEO Alex Mashinsky and prosecutors to appear in court on November 13 to "preserve testimony" and address motions to dismiss certain charges in the indictment. In January, Mashinsky's lawyers filed a motion to dismiss charges related to commodity fraud and market manipulation.

In July 2023, authorities arrested Mashinsky and charged him with seven felonies. Prosecutors accused the former CEO and former Chief Revenue Officer Roni Cohen-Pavon of "illegally manipulating the price of the platform's token CEL," with Mashinsky allegedly misleading users about the nature of their investments.

According to court records, Mashinsky has not appeared in person since February. In addition to the hearing on November 13, Judge Koeltl also ordered both parties to hold a pre-trial conference on January 16. The jury trial is set to begin on January 28.
