Japanese listed company Metaplanet raises 66 million dollars through equity subscription
ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, Japanese listed company Metaplanet has completed its 11th round of equity subscription, raising 10 billion yen (approximately 66 million USD), with Evo Fund acquiring a 14.9% stake thereafter.
Metaplanet first announced the equity subscription on August 6, when Metaplanet's stock price was around 700 yen, allowing shareholders to purchase new shares at a discounted price of 555 yen per share. Metaplanet adopted Bitcoin as a reserve asset in May to hedge against yen fluctuations. According to data from bitcointreasuries.net, the company currently holds 861.4 BTC, and its stock price has increased by 642% year-to-date.
