The decentralized storage protocol Walrus launches a public testnet
ChainCatcher news, the decentralized storage network Walrus Protocol has launched its public testnet. The public testnet of Walrus and its testnet token WAL are serviced by Sui as the coordination layer. Sui provides Walrus with a dedicated management architecture to store its global state and metadata, enabling fast consensus, composability, and the opportunity to integrate storage into smart contracts on Sui.
The Walrus protocol can store and transmit large data files from any web2 or web3 source, including media content, audio files, videos, images, PDFs, and more. These large files are referred to as blobs, which are stored quickly and efficiently by Walrus, characterized by resilience, scalability, programmability, and security.
