Report: Animoca Brands invested in 21 projects in the third quarter
According to ChainCatcher news, Animoca Brands has released its third-quarter investment report, showing that the company invested in 21 projects over the past three months, making it one of the most active investors alongside Robot Ventures, which focuses on L2 and crypto AI startups. Approximately one-third of the investment rounds were early or seed rounds, and 37.35% were undisclosed rounds.
Although overall financing activity has slowed compared to the 2021 bull market, there are signs of recovery in 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. Animoca Brands completed 55 transactions in the past six months, which is twice the industry average. The company's investment size typically ranges from $3 million to $10 million, accounting for about one-third of all venture capital transactions. In September of this year, the company invested in 5 GameFi projects, with a total financing amount of $38.95 million. The largest investment was a participation in a $30 million financing round for Balance (EPT) led by a16z.
Animoca Brands currently manages over $291 million in assets and holds approximately $1.8 billion in token reserves. Its portfolio includes 141 assets, covering well-known tokens such as TON, SHIB, IMX, and MATIC, with a total market capitalization of $6.04 billion.
