U.S. Department of Homeland Security: Over 500 ransomware attacks have been thwarted since 2021

ChainCatcher news, according to Bloomberg, the Cyber Crime Division of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has stated that since 2021, they have thwarted over 500 ransomware attacks and seized billions of dollars in cryptocurrency. The Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) is currently taking measures to prevent attacks before they occur.

Between October 2023 and September 30 of this year, HSI has thwarted 150 ransomware schemes, bringing the total to 537 incidents since the operation began in 2021. Additionally, HSI has seized cryptocurrency worth $4.3 billion since 2021.
