ChainCatcher news, the Brazilian Supreme Court has ordered that social media platform X must pay a fine of approximately 5.2 million USD before it can resume services in the country.

Earlier, the platform, controlled by American billionaire Elon Musk, had appointed a local legal representative and removed inappropriate messages in accordance with the court's directive. Judge Alexandre de Moraes ruled on Friday that X must complete the payment of the 18.3 million reais fine he previously imposed, as well as pay an additional 10 million reais fine he ruled last week due to the platform allowing some Brazilian users to use the service during the ban, before it can operate again in the country. The total fines amount to approximately 5.2 million USD.
