U.S. Congressman Brad Sherman: The SEC should regulate cryptocurrencies and legislation should clarify their securities nature
ChainCatcher news, according to FOX Business reporter Eleanor Terrett, after the remarks of House Financial Services Committee Chairman Patrick McHenry, Congressman Brad Sherman mentioned the topic of cryptocurrency for the first time.
Sherman stated: "The SEC is the primary agency for protecting investors and is responsible for almost all other intangible investment assets. We can provide clarity, although I don't think it's necessary, we can clarify that cryptocurrency is a security through additional regulations."
