Hong Kong Stock Exchange: There are currently ten virtual asset ETPs available for selection
ChainCatcher news, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange announced that the ETP (Exchange-Traded Products) market, including ETFs (Exchange-Traded Funds) and leveraged and inverse products, is experiencing a wave of new product listings this year. The thematic ETF market in Hong Kong continues to diversify, with new ETFs investing in various fields such as artificial intelligence and automation, digital payments, and Web3 being launched throughout the year. The most notable new ETP is undoubtedly the first inverse Bitcoin product in Asia, which was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in July, providing investors with a new tool to capture Bitcoin price movements.
With the first six virtual asset spot ETFs in Asia listed in April, along with the first three virtual asset futures ETFs listed in December 2022 and January 2023, the market capitalization of virtual asset ETFs in Hong Kong has grown to over HKD 3.2 billion by the end of August. Currently, there are ten virtual asset ETPs available on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
