Riot and Bitfarms reached a settlement before the shareholders' meeting

ChainCatcher news, according to Bitcoin.com, Bitcoin mining companies Riot Platforms and Bitfarms announced in a joint statement on September 23, 2024, that they have resolved their dispute through a settlement agreement. The agreement has been submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and was reached before Bitfarms' special shareholder meeting on November 6, 2024.

According to the terms of the settlement, Riot agreed to withdraw its proposal to replace certain members of the Bitfarms board of directors. In exchange, Bitfarms appointed Amy Freedman to the board and assigned her to key committees, including the Governance and Nominating Committee, the Compensation Committee, and any special committee of independent directors.
