Foreign media: X may return to Brazil after complying with court orders, pending court evaluation
ChainCatcher news, X's lawyer stated in a court document on Friday that X has complied with the order for the social network to delete accounts accused of participating in misinformation (dissemination), as well as the Supreme Court's request for fines and the appointment of a new legal representative for X in Brazil.
According to Times, the Brazilian Supreme Court confirmed this in its own document on Saturday, but noted that X has not submitted the appropriate documents to advance the case and will have five days to do so. André Zonaro Giacchetta is one of X's new lawyers in Brazil, and he stated that the conditions for X's return to Brazil "have been met, but it depends on" the assessment of the country's Supreme Court. Elon Musk has publicly stated that X will continue to disregard court orders, claiming that the judge behind the orders is engaging in political censorship, and at one point described these demands as "the most severe requirements of any country on Earth."
According to the Associated Press, analysts estimate that about 40 million Brazilians use X at least once a month. X did not immediately respond to a request for comment, and Musk and the social network's global government affairs page did not make any comments or statements on Saturday.
