ChainCatcher news, a Bloomberg reporter recently revealed through the Freedom of Information Act that since 2022, SEC Chairman Gary Gensler has received multiple threatening emails and voicemails from both the U.S. and abroad. These threats contain violent language, with one individual claiming they would shoot and dismember him, and another threatening email with the subject "Die" coming from Australia.

Some threats may even come from government employees. Although these threats are not explicitly related to Gensler's cryptocurrency regulatory policies, Gensler has faced ridicule and criticism from the crypto community for his crackdown on the digital asset industry. Many crypto users have publicly expressed their dissatisfaction with him on social media. At the 2024 Bitcoin conference, Donald Trump promised to fire Gensler immediately upon taking office, earning a strong response from the audience.

Currently, Gensler's term is set to last until 2026, but the outcome of the election may affect his future.
