Speed Reading BTC Ecosystem Drama: Ordinals Founder Joins Community to Tear Apart "Satoshi Nakamoto," Fraud and Operational Node Monkeys Profiting Millions?

Bull market trading, bear market watching.
The crypto industry is rife with various disputes over interests, and during market lows, these disputes often come to the forefront.
In the early hours of today, a fierce battle broke out in the BTC ecosystem:
Ordinals founder Casey publicly published an article on his Twitter and blog, pointing out that rocktoshi (@rocktoshi21), who claimed to be a co-founder of Ordinals a few days ago, is actually not a co-founder, and revealed more details about their journey from founding the company to parting ways.
Subsequently, several big names in the BTC ecosystem, such as Erin, Leo, Charlie, and Ninja (friends familiar with the BTC ecosystem should know), began to publicly support Casey and each revealed dirt on rocktoshi (hereafter referred to as Shitbencong), including but not limited to fraud, intimidation, and unpleasant working experiences.
Moreover, there were reports indicating that the well-known project Node Monkeys on Ordinals is actually led by Shitbencong, who personally profited millions of dollars quickly.
As soon as the news broke, the price of Node Monkeys fell sharply.
Currently, it is unclear what kind of interests entanglement occurred between these big names and Shitbencong, and there is no way to verify the authenticity of these revelations; it can only be said that Shitbencong is being attacked from all sides, and related project assets may be affected.
We quickly organized various information about this battle for reference.
The Dispute Over the Co-founder Title of Ordinals
The public cause of this entire dispute may be traced back to a tweet from Shitbencong himself two days ago.
Originally, the name rocktoshi was not particularly famous, but the day before yesterday, he publicly claimed on Twitter to be one of the co-founders of the Bitcoin Ordinals project, stating, "I was already researching how to implement NFTs on Bitcoin before Casey joined."
The implication of this declaration is clear; in simple terms, he believes he deserves the title of "Ordinals Co-founder" and has the capability, possibly not inferior to Casey.
You might ask, is it really that important to fight over a title?
The title is extremely important in the crypto industry, which is filled with transient figures and forgettable names. A title from a previously successful project often becomes a key bargaining chip in whether you get invited to the next gathering.
However, it is well known that Casey is regarded as the true founder of Ordinals in everyone's mind. We cannot speculate on Shitbencong's motives for making such statements, but the effect is clearly that he has gained more attention amid the controversy.
Regardless of whether Shitbencong is genuinely standing up for himself or trying to gain notoriety, these statements clearly do not make Casey, the real founder of Ordinals, comfortable.
In the early hours of today, Casey also published a blog post and shared it on Twitter, titled “How Ordinals Came to Be”.
But it is evident that the title is not the main point; the content of the article can be seen as a complete denial of "Shitbencong claiming to be a co-founder of Ordinals."
Casey stated that Shitbencong made no contributions to the concept of Ordinals, including code design, and pointed out that Shitbencong's possible contribution was merely correcting typos in the code repository.
As for the title of co-founder of Ordinals, Casey feels it is purely an attempt to ride on the coattails.
Casey previously ran a small company called Ordinals Corporation, but it was dissolved in less than three months. In this company, Shitbencong was indeed a so-called "co-founder."
However, this company has nothing to do with the current Ordinals in Bitcoin; it was merely established under a small concept. If anything, Shitbencong was just a co-founder of this small company, not of the current Ordinals protocol.
If the story ended here, it might not be very damaging, but Casey revealed more information to publicly sever ties with Shitbencong:
"Rocktoshi has become unreliable. I told him I no longer wanted to work with him, but he remained unreasonable, ultimately demanding $5 million in exchange for his shares in the company… Even after we finally resolved the dissolution of the ordinals company, he continued to send me threatening, demanding, insulting, and emotionally charged emails for months."
A clear public accusation and pointed criticism.
The Community Attacks Collectively
Casey also stated that many people in the ecosystem have dealt with rocktoshi, and everyone he spoke to had similar long-term experiences of being threatened, deceived, manipulated, and cheated.
This immediately turned Shitbencong into a target for collective fire.
Subsequently, Casey also posted various dirt revealed by big names in the Bitcoin ecosystem, pushing Shitbencong into the spotlight.
For example, Charlie @cbspears, a maintainer of Ordinals Hub, publicly posted in January this year, stating, "For the past six months, Rocktoshi has been harassing me, trying to extort me, and threatening to sue me";
And the following statement is explosive, though its authenticity is uncertain:
"I worry that he will use the millions of dollars he gained from the Nodemonkes project mint and his growing influence in the Ordinals ecosystem to continue manipulating and attacking others."
The implication is that Shitbencong may have a vested interest in Node Monkeys.
Another statement from @LeonidasNFT partially confirmed this vested interest, stating, "Rocktoshi has launched numerous projects under various aliases over the past 18 months. Take Nodemonkes as an example; it is objectively a very good Ordinals (NFTs on Bitcoin) series… Regardless of Rocktoshi's involvement, it would operate well."
Trevor.btc, the CEO of ninjaalerts and GP of the Bitcoin Frontier Fund (btcfrontierfund), also publicly stated that he personally experienced Rocktoshi's deceit and manipulation. He mentioned that remaining silent would only allow such behavior to continue, potentially harming those with fewer resources and lower visibility.
Another community figure, Joona (@NFTJoona), directly posted chat records with rocktoshi, stating that they had a simple transaction, but later rock canceled the transaction and began extorting.
It can be seen that Shitbencong directly accused the other party of being a scammer and threatened to pursue legal action. More details of the revelations show that Shitbencong stated if he had to use his lawyer, he would charge Joona $1,600 per hour.
A person's words may not clarify the issue, but when a group collectively attacks, it somewhat confirms Casey's earlier claims of "threats, deception, manipulation, and cheating."
The World is Full of Strife, All for Profit
As of now, there has been no conclusive evidence regarding the authenticity of this battle where Casey and others collectively targeted rocktoshi.
In response to this public opinion offensive, Rocktoshi merely replied lightly:
"I am not a scammer. Anyone who knows me knows this. Including Casey. Everything I said is true. Saying these words publicly has relieved me. To Casey: I think you should calm down and stop the personal attacks and insults."
Ultimately, who is right or wrong, who has encroached on whose interests, may not be that important.
The world is bustling, all for profit; the world is full of strife, all for profit. It is likely that former allies have not negotiated their interests, and the community of shared interests has begun to turn against each other.
This ancient saying appeared in the "Records of the Grand Historian," and there is actually another phrase that is even more thought-provoking:
"When the granaries are full, people know etiquette; when food and clothing are sufficient, people know honor and disgrace."
The big shots have had their fill and are now tearing each other apart over issues of honor and disgrace. When will the leeks be able to eat their fill?
