A Nigerian court is considering the bail application of Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan
ChainCatcher news, according to Bloomberg, a Nigerian court has postponed its ruling on the bail application of Binance's financial crime compliance officer Tigran Gambaryan, who has been detained in the country for over six months. U.S. lawmakers have claimed that he is being unjustly held. On Wednesday, the court in the capital Abuja heard several hours of arguments, after which the presiding judge stated that a ruling would be made later, but did not disclose a specific time.
Gambaryan's lawyer Mark Mordi told the court that the defendant has required surgery since July 18 and needs urgent medical assistance, but the Nigerian criminal justice system is unable to provide it. However, state prosecutor Ekele Iheanacho argued that the Binance executive has received adequate treatment both in the prison hospital and in another facility in Abuja used by senior government officials.
