ChainCatcher news, the Scottish prosecutor seized nearly $144,000 (£110,000) worth of Bitcoin from a "technician" involved in a burglary case, during which a cryptocurrency holder was threatened with a machete. The incident occurred in March 2020, when three men threatened the victim in a home near Glasgow to transfer Bitcoin to an account controlled by John Ross Rennie. Although Rennie did not directly participate in the robbery, he was convicted of "resetting" and 23.5 Bitcoins held as stolen property were recently converted to cash and confiscated by the prosecutor.
