ScamSniffer Report: August Crypto Phishing Losses Reach $63 Million, Number of Victims Decreases but Loss Amount Soars
ChainCatcher news, according to the phishing report released by ScamSniffer in August, approximately 9,145 victims lost about 63 million dollars in cryptocurrency phishing scams. Compared to July, the number of victims decreased by 34%, but the amount stolen surged by 215%. One victim lost as much as 55 million dollars in a phishing scam targeting proxy ownership.
The report noted a significant decrease in the number of fake accounts on the X platform (formerly Twitter). ScamSniffer recommends optimizing the display of key phishing characteristics and integrating its phishing domain and address blacklist to protect users.
