I am thrilled to announce that I have joined OKX SG as CEO. The reason I accepted this challenge is that I believe cryptocurrency represents the next generation of cutting-edge innovation. Singapore has played a significant role in the adoption of cryptocurrency, and I believe we have the capability to connect Singaporean customers with the on-chain world in a secure and seamless manner.
OKX has nearly a decade of history in the cryptocurrency space. In recent years, we have been expanding our footprint and obtaining licenses in key locations around the globe. We focus on responsible innovation, pursue sustainable growth, and are committed to advancing technology while safeguarding user rights.
As a major digital asset hub, Singapore is an integral part of our global strategy. The team has been working hard to establish a solid foundation here. Today, I am very proud to announce that OKX SG has obtained a Major Payment Institution (MPI) license issued by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
This MPI license enables us to offer digital payment token and cross-border remittance services, including spot (buy/sell) trading of cryptocurrencies for Singaporean customers. Obtaining this license is an important milestone for us, and we are more committed than ever to providing access for our customers and contributing to the development of the community and ecosystem.
I was born and raised in Singapore and have always been looking for ways to contribute to the country. I have been fortunate to have opportunities to do so in my previous career at MAS, GIC, and Grab. Now, I believe OKX SG is a platform that can make an even greater contribution.
