Sony L2 Network Soneium launches public testnet and developer incubation program

ChainCatcher news, Sony's blockchain division, Sony Block Solutions Labs, has launched the Soneium Minato public testnet and the Soneium Spark developer incubation program for its Soneium network.

Soneium Minato uses test crypto assets, allowing developers and users to participate without risk, and has released a cross-chain bridge connecting to the Soneium Minato testnet. The first phase of Soneium Spark will open for applications in the coming weeks, starting from mid-October and continuing for the next few months, covering three categories: DeFi, Web3 Experiences, and Open Category.

Soneium is an Ethereum L2 based on the Op Stack, and the project is a joint venture between Sony Group Corporation and Startale Labs, launched in 2023 and recently handed over to Sony Network Communications Labs. The two companies also plan to integrate the ASTR token as a key asset into the EVM-compatible Minato testnet.
