ChainCatcher news, KOR Protocol, a startup supported by Animoca Brands, has launched a new streaming service called KOR Player. DJs including Joel Zimmerman (better known as deadmau5), Plastkman, Inder Phull, Ben Turner, and Dean Wilson have joined as early supporters.

KOR Player enables users to play and remix music using a set of tools, including an intellectual property "sound library" vault for samples uploaded by artists. It also integrates artificial intelligence to verify the source of the music and pay royalties in cryptocurrency.

According to a press release, KOR aims to address the gray areas of music copyright law and the use of unlicensed intellectual property in video games, live streaming, esports broadcasting, and other channels that attract large audiences, while providing artists and record labels with new distribution channels to reach fans and monetize their work.
