The health condition of the detained Binance executive continues to deteriorate, and he is unable to walk
ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan has been detained in Nigeria for six months due to alleged financial crimes totaling $34 million, and his family is concerned about his deteriorating health condition.
Nigerian authorities imprisoned Gambaryan for allegedly being involved in money laundering, currency speculation, and tax evasion during his time at Binance.
According to information provided by Gambaryan's family, his health has been continuously worsening due to long-term medical neglect. Their statement said: "He is unable to walk due to a herniated disc and spinal injuries, suffering from unbearable pain, and the prison has refused to provide him with a wheelchair."
Due to his immobility, Gambaryan must take blood thinners to avoid blood clots. The family further accused Nigerian authorities of not allowing his legal team to visit him for 20 days from July 26 to August 14. The family claims that this restriction "violates the Nigerian constitution and the management laws of the prison where he is held."
