ChainCatcher news, according to the French newspaper Le Monde, the Telegram platform is often criticized for its lack of regulation, only implementing partial and very limited bans. Due to the absence of regulatory rules, Telegram has become a refuge for many political movements that are banned on all other platforms, such as the conspiracy movement QAnon, as well as Hamas, which has set up dozens of official and unofficial accounts there.
Telegram had previously blocked one of Hamas's official channels in Europe. The organization, named "Hamas Movement," has about 150,000 subscribers, and the channel posted a video of Hamas militants kidnapping French hostage Mia Schem during the attack on the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023. However, Telegram's regulatory actions remain partial and very limited.
