Former CIA analyst: Telegram founder accused of being part of a "fabricated political case."
ChainCatcher news, according to the Russian Satellite News Agency, former CIA analyst Larry Johnson stated: "They (French authorities) will charge (Telegram founder Pavel Durov) with terrorism because he refuses to censor certain groups… Telegram is one of the few channels that truly allows criticism of Western policies to continue to spread. I believe this is the root of the problem."
Johnson believes the charges against Durov are "fabricated political cases," suggesting that these accusations are intended to intimidate the tech entrepreneur.
Johnson added: "There was a time when he was considered to be close to (French President Emmanuel) Macron, but now it seems that this relationship is clearly no longer in existence, because this arrest would not have happened without Macron's knowledge and approval."
