Data: The number of Bitcoin addresses holding more than 10 BTC has rebounded from the decline in the first quarter
ChainCatcher news indicates that the number of Bitcoin addresses holding at least 10 BTC has decreased in 2024. At the beginning of this year, the number of such addresses was approximately 155,500, but it declined in the first quarter, reaching a low of about 152,600 in late March. This decline is contrary to the price trend of Bitcoin during the same period, reflecting profit-taking by smart money. However, as Bitcoin's price stabilized around $60,000, the number of addresses holding more than 10 BTC reversed in August, rising to 153,500. Historically, the number of addresses holding at least 10 BTC has shown an upward trend, especially since 2015, when the price of Bitcoin skyrocketed from below $500 to over $60,000 in 2021. This long-term growth highlights the increasing accumulation by large holders, which is often seen as a sign of confidence in Bitcoin's value proposition. However, the mid-2024 decline suggests that as the market adjusts after the "unlocking," Bitcoin will be allocated or redistributed in the short term.
