Vitalik: "The financialized pseudonymous society" is not truly effective; governance structures require a more multidimensional concept of identity
ChainCatcher message, Vitalik posted on X: "I believe that 'anonymous society', and even 'financialized pseudonymous society', is not really effective. A more multidimensional concept of identity (characterized by 'soulbinding') seems necessary; if you don't do this, the most stable governance structure will just be a de facto centralized structure, and others will be attacked by financialized governance. It can be said that even today, we can see these issues at play in DAOs.
Anonymity is a check and balance, its existence is to run the 'dark side of the cycle', but it itself cannot run the entire cycle. Just as you cannot operate a society with perpetual rebellious energy.
Regarding x-risk, I believe that diverse thinking can actually help us more effectively identify x-risk mitigation measures that people can support."
