K33 Research: In the second quarter, institutional investors' purchases of Bitcoin ETFs increased by 27%, primarily focused on IBIT and FBTC
ChainCatcher news, K33 Research senior analyst Vetle Lunde stated today on X that institutional holdings of BTC ETFs steadily increased in the second quarter. According to the 13F filings, as of June 30, a total of 1,199 professional firms held investments in U.S. spot ETFs, an increase of 262 firms from the previous quarter. While retail investors still hold the majority of circulating shares, the share of institutional investors in total AUM has increased by 2.41 percentage points, currently accounting for 21.15% in the second quarter. Institutional capital in GBTC has significantly decreased, while the dominance of professional investors in IBIT and FBTC has notably grown.
