Venezuela blocks Binance and X platform due to disputes over presidential election results
ChainCatcher news, the Venezuelan government has cut off access for Binance users connecting through state-owned ISPs. The Venezuelan government's censorship actions have extended to the cryptocurrency sector. This measure could affect thousands and is part of a series of crackdowns on other services, with similar actions taken against Mercado Libre, Signal, Reddit, and X.
Binance has also acknowledged this situation, stating in an email sent to Venezuelan customers: "Like several company websites in different sectors in Venezuela (including social networks), the Binance website is also facing access restrictions."
According to Cointelegraph, unrest has erupted due to disputes over the presidential election results. Venezuela experienced widespread protests following the presidential election on July 28, with both Maduro and rival Edmundo González claiming victory.
