U.S. media: Young voters believe Harris is better than Trump at handling economic issues
ChainCatcher news, according to Jinshi reports, a new survey by CNBC and Generation Lab shows that young Americans do not seem to believe that Harris should be held responsible for the deterioration of the U.S. economy caused by the Biden administration.
After Biden dropped out of the race in July, 69% of Americans aged 18 to 34 believe that the economy under President Biden is worsening. However, they also think that the candidate most capable of improving the economy is the de facto Democratic candidate Harris, rather than the Republican candidate, former President Trump.
41% of respondents believe Harris is the best candidate for the economy, while 40% chose Trump, and 19% indicated they would choose third-party candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Compared to the survey in May, support for the Democrats on economic issues has risen by 7 percentage points. At that time, only 34% of respondents believed that Biden, who was then a potential Democratic presidential candidate, was the best choice to boost the economy, while 40% chose Trump and 25% chose Kennedy.
