Ministry of Public Security: Fraud groups are upgrading their criminal tools using new technologies such as blockchain and virtual currency, intensifying the offensive and defensive confrontation

ChainCatcher news, according to a report by The Paper, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the Supreme People's Court, and the Ministry of Public Security jointly held a press conference on "Cracking Down on Cross-Border Fraud Crimes in accordance with the Law to Protect the Legal Rights and Interests of the People."

At the conference, Zheng Xiang, deputy director of the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, stated that fraud groups are continuously updating and upgrading their criminal tools by utilizing new technologies and new business models such as blockchain, virtual currency, AI intelligence, remote control, and screen sharing, leading to an intensifying offensive and defensive confrontation with public security organs in areas such as communication networks and money laundering.
