Former FTX executive Ryan Salame requests to delay his prison sentence until October 13 due to a dog bite
ChainCatcher news, the lawyer for former FTX Digital Markets co-CEO Ryan Salame has requested a delay in his prison sentence in a New York court to undergo emergency surgery. According to the lawyer, Salame was "severely bitten" by a German shepherd at a friend's house on June 29.
Salame was originally scheduled to begin his sentence on August 29 of this year, but his lawyer is seeking to postpone the date to October 13. A doctor's diagnostic letter indicates that Salame was evaluated for facial dog bite injuries on July 3.
In September of last year, Salame pleaded guilty to conspiracy to make illegal political donations and conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money transfer business, and he was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison. He had worked closely with former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried. Bankman-Fried was sentenced to nearly 25 years in prison for fraud in March of this year.
