ChainCatcher news, according to Bloomberg, as Wall Street leads in the tokenization of real assets over crypto-native players, mainstream institutions face the question of whether to enter the gray area of decentralized finance.

This gray area, abbreviated as DeFi, includes projects that use automated software on the blockchain to provide various financial services. These ecosystems are typically not controlled by any single party, shrouded in regulatory ambiguity, and open to potential wide participation.

Standard Chartered expects that by 2034, the tokenization market size will reach approximately $30 trillion, with trade finance contributing 16% of the share. Currently, the market value of cryptocurrencies is $2.4 trillion.

So far, about $13.2 billion of real-world assets have been tokenized. According to data from rwa.xyz, private credit is the largest segment, accounting for $8.4 billion, followed by U.S. Treasury bonds.
