ChainCatcher news, Sui announced the launch of the groundbreaking Mysticeti consensus protocol on the mainnet. This protocol has reduced consensus time by 80% on the testnet, achieving a consensus time of 390 milliseconds and settlement finality of 640 milliseconds.

Mysticeti is a new milestone in DAG-based consensus algorithms, decoupling latency and throughput while maintaining extremely high throughput in the face of network and node failures.

Its main advantages include: the minimum number of rounds required to complete submissions, increased throughput without added latency, and earlier transaction submissions.

Sui stated that this is a phased rollout process, with upgrades taking place in several steps over the coming weeks. Mysticeti will provide an improved user experience for all applications, enabling lightning-fast transactions.
