Smith believes that a young candidate who understands California's tech economy could bring about entirely new policies. The Blockchain Association has reached out to the Harris team but has not yet received a response.

Multiple cryptocurrency advocacy organizations are calling for Harris to engage in "open dialogue" and support cryptocurrency in the party platform.
