Senate Democrats wrote to Sam Altman regarding OpenAI's safety standards and whistleblower employment policies

ChainCatcher news, Senate Democrats and an independent lawmaker have written to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman regarding OpenAI's safety standards and whistleblower employment policies.

According to a report by The Washington Post, the most significant part of the letter may be Section 9, which states: "Does OpenAI commit to providing its next foundational model for testing, review, analysis, and evaluation by U.S. government agencies before deployment?"

The letter also lists 11 additional points that need to be addressed, including ensuring that OpenAI commits 20% of its computing power to safety research and establishing agreements to prevent malicious actors or foreign adversaries from stealing OpenAI's AI products.
