Report: Approximately 562 million people worldwide own cryptocurrency, an increase of about 33% compared to 2023
ChainCatcher news, according to a recent report released by the cryptocurrency payment solution provider Triple-A, approximately 562 million people worldwide will own cryptocurrency in 2024, accounting for about 6.8% of the global population, an increase of about 33% from 420 million in 2023. Among them, Asia leads in cryptocurrency ownership, with an estimated 326.8 million people holding cryptocurrency, a growth of 21.8% compared to 2023.
Additionally, among all age groups, those aged 24-35 have the highest proportion of cryptocurrency ownership; while the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the country with the highest cryptocurrency adoption rate, with 25.3% of its population holding some form of cryptocurrency asset.
