Democratic National Committee: Biden will be officially nominated as the Democratic presidential candidate in August
ChainCatcher news, according to CBS News, a letter from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) shows that the committee has decided to conduct a virtual roll call vote in August and officially nominate President Biden as the Democratic presidential candidate.
DNC Rules Committee Chair, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, and Leah Daughtry stated, "We will detail why virtual voting is the wisest approach and explain how virtual voting will work. On Friday, we will present a framework for how to best negotiate this. Next week, we will continue with a second meeting to review and approve specific rules developed for this purpose."
