Data: 24,000 BTC options and 157,000 ETH options will expire today, with a total nominal value of 1.89 billion dollars
ChainCatcher news, Greeks.live macro researcher Adam posted on the X platform that 24,000 BTC options are about to expire, with a Put Call Ratio of 1.08 and a maximum pain point of $58,500, representing a notional value of $1.4 billion. 157,000 ETH options are about to expire, with a Put Call Ratio of 0.37 and a maximum pain point of $3,100, representing a notional value of $490 million.
According to Adam's analysis, the crypto market has seen a slight rebound this week, with the main term implied volatility (IV) significantly dropping to a new low since March. Quarterly settlements and large market fluctuations have created a good entry opportunity for options sellers, driving down IV. However, the market sentiment remains pessimistic, with continuous delays in ETH ETF news; even if it launches as scheduled, mainstream views suggest that the inflow of funds will not be rapid. The U.S. stock market is also relatively weak, and the entire risk asset market is pinning hopes on a rate cut in September to boost sentiment.
