Justice 0 Loo Series: The Solana Game Chain Sonic Odyssey Mission with Hundreds of Millions in Funding
Author: Shenchao TechFlow
Never thought that one day on the road of investment and finance, I would actually have to face off against the German government.
These past few days, the market has been tossed around by Mentougou and the German government, witnessing not the abstract sword of Damocles, but one large transfer after another from the German government's wallet address.
But no worries, no matter how the market sways, zero-cost interactions will always be your safe haven.
Today, we are interacting with the Solana Layer2 project Sonic, which raised $16 million.
It's hard to say whether there is an innovative demand in ecological technology or a new narrative demand in market speculation, but in any case, Solana Layer 2 has suddenly appeared in droves, with even sub-sectors already occupied: Sonic focuses on creating a Solana Layer2 designed for gaming. Supported by Mirror World, Sonic is compatible with all EVM smart contracts and features a native game engine, providing comprehensive On-Chain game development components for game developers.
In June of this year, Sonic announced that it had raised $12 million in Series A funding led by Bitkraft Ventures, with participation from well-known institutions such as OKX Ventures, Mirana Ventures, and Mask Network. Combined with the $4 million seed round funding raised back in March 2022, Sonic has currently disclosed a total of $16 million in funding.
Odyssey, Start!
The current way to participate in zero-cost interactions is to join the Sonic Odyssey , but the interaction in Sonic's Odyssey is quite simple, mainly involving social media interactions, daily check-ins, game experiences, and other straightforward interaction sections. The rewards for the Odyssey are mystery boxes, and the specific function of the boxes has not yet been disclosed, so just treat them as a points system.
Backpack Wallet Installation and Testnet Setup
Sonic currently only supports connections with the Backpack wallet and Nightly wallet. Since Nightly is relatively niche, this demonstration will use the Backpack wallet plugin as an example.

After installation, you can interact with a new wallet address or import your commonly used wallet.
Once the wallet and address are set up, follow these steps to configure the Sonic testnet:
Click the top left settings → Preferences → Enable Developer Mode → Return to the wallet page and click Add Network → Find Sonic Testnet in the Test Networks section
Claiming Test Tokens
Enter the test token claiming address:
Input your address for verification and confirmation to claim the tokens. The diligent editor claimed twice, so there are 2 Sonic Sol.
Odyssey Task 1: Social Media Interaction
Enter the Odyssey interface , and directly click the most prominent button on the page to enter the interaction page.
In the interaction interface, first complete the social media interaction task, which involves following the official Twitter + official Discord. After completing this, you can claim 3 mystery boxes.
Odyssey Task 2: Daily Check-in
After completing the social media interaction task, click on Check-in on the left to enter the check-in interaction. This interaction requires using the test tokens you just claimed as Gas. The check-in task is not difficult; according to the official rules, this task values persistence:
Checking in continuously for 1-7 days will earn you 1 mystery box.
Checking in continuously for 8-14 days will earn you 2 mystery boxes.
Checking in for more than 14 days will earn you 3 mystery boxes.
Odyssey Task 3: Claim Rewards Based on On-Chain Transaction Count
This is a passive task; the more transactions you initiate, the more boxes you can claim. You can increase your transaction count by transferring between wallets or by participating in the daily Odyssey tasks.
100 transactions can earn you 6 mystery boxes.
Odyssey Task 4: Inviting Friends
There’s not much to say about inviting; the reward for inviting a friend is 1 mystery box. Those with multiple accounts can use their alternate accounts to interact, but there are quantity requirements for Twitter and Discord accounts.
Odyssey Task 7: Participate in the Lottery
Use test tokens to participate in the lottery. The rule is that one winner will be drawn from each block, rewarded with 1 mystery box (a block is generated every 0.4 seconds), and every 10,000th block's winner will receive an additional reward of 10,000 mystery boxes.
According to my tests, a single 5 consecutive draws can generate multiple interaction records. Using consecutive draws is a convenient way to also progress in Task 3.
Moreover, the winning rate is quite high, but the interaction process can be a bit laggy.
Odyssey Task 8: Game Experience
Currently, the Sonic Odyssey page has launched three games: SnakeLite, FoMoney, and JogoJogo. Among them, SnakeLite is a TON ecosystem mini-game based on Telegram, which is inconvenient for PC interaction. Here, I will briefly demonstrate game interaction using JogoJogo as an example.
JogoJogo is a guessing platform. After entering the platform, you will see options to register with an email or a wallet. Here, just enter using your wallet.
Once in the platform, click the green "Deposit" button in the upper right corner.
Click the purple button to claim test tokens, which will be used for guessing on the platform.
Return to the main interface and randomly select an option block.
Enter the guessing page, use the test tokens to interact and make your guess, and the interaction is complete.
Conclusion
Thus, the Sonic testnet interaction is complete. This interaction is not difficult and is entirely zero-cost. The key is to persist in daily check-ins. Additionally, the lottery task in the Odyssey can be participated in multiple times, and winning a big prize can yield significant rewards.
As for the games currently launched by Sonic, they have some playability but not much. Especially the game experience, which requires wallet interactions for every action, is indeed lacking.
Now, old chain games have gone silent, while new chain games (like TON ecosystem mini-games) are gradually emerging. The timing of Sonic's appearance is indeed intriguing. However, the main purpose of this article is to provide a detailed and practical interaction tutorial, not to delve into the project.
As for Sonic's future development, Shenchao TechFlow will continue to follow up, so please stay tuned!
