Kraken Report: Australian Crypto Users Prefer SOL Over ETH

ChainCatcher news, the cryptocurrency exchange Kraken announced on Tuesday that it has analyzed millions of Australian wallets, revealing trends in user trading behavior and asset preferences in the region.

The analysis shows that Bitcoin remains the most actively traded cryptocurrency among Australian users, accounting for 27% of all trading volume in the country from May 2023 to May 2024, slightly above the global average of 26%.

SOL has also gained attention, accounting for 10% of trading volume, while the global figure is 7.8%. ETH ranks third, making up 9.6% of trading volume among Australian clients, slightly below the global rate of 9.9%.

Additionally, a recent analysis by the website Finder shows that the preference for digital assets in the country remains high. Among a population of 26 million, 17.7% own cryptocurrency. This figure is significantly higher than the global average of 11.4%.
