Apple executives may become observers on the OpenAI board

Media outlets cited sources familiar with the matter, stating that Phil Schiller, head of the Apple App Store and former marketing chief, has been selected for this position. As a board observer, he will not serve in an official director capacity. In June of this year, Apple announced that it would offer ChatGPT on iPhone, iPad, and Mac as part of Apple's artificial intelligence features.

The aforementioned sources indicated that the board arrangement will take effect later this year, and Schiller has not yet attended any meetings. Specific circumstances may still change.
