John Rolle, the Governor of the Central Bank of the Bahamas, stated that the adoption of the Sand Dollar (the CBDC launched by the Bahamas in 2020) is still limited, so the government is formulating regulations to effectively compel commercial banks to issue the central bank digital currency to promote its adoption.
