This round of financing will be used to promote Sonic's product upgrades and ecological expansion. As the first SVM L2 to achieve atomic interoperability with Solana, Sonic can achieve rapid synchronization of its Layer2 network with the Solana mainnet state.

Solana's atomic SVM Layer2 Sonic has announced the completion of a $12 million Series A funding round, led by Bitkraft, with participation from Galaxy Interactive, Big Brain Holdings, Matt Sorg (from the Solana founding team), Nom (Bonk), and several other institutions and individuals.

This funding round will be used to drive product upgrades and ecosystem expansion for Sonic. As the first SVM L2 to achieve atomic interoperability with Solana, Sonic enables rapid synchronization of its Layer2 network with the Solana mainnet state. Developers can share the mainnet's programs, states, and data without redeploying contracts. Additionally, Sonic integrates infrastructure tailored for Solana game development and deployment—such as sandbox environments, customizable game development modules, and scalable data types—combined with the parallel execution model of the Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) and the characteristics of a localized transaction fee market, providing on-chain gamers with faster transaction speeds and lower, stable transaction fees. This aims to deliver a faster and smoother on-chain gaming experience.

Sonic is committed to leading more developers to join the Solana gaming ecosystem by launching incubation funds and acceleration programs to help them familiarize themselves with Sonic SVM (Solana Virtual Machine) and the HyperGrid scaling framework. HyperGrid aims to allow developers to seamlessly deploy new game engines and virtual machines within the Solana environment, acting as a grid deployment toolkit to launch new SVM environments, creating independent spaces for each new game on the Solana network.

Solana is currently the most user- and developer-friendly public chain, primarily due to its low entry barrier and the explosive growth of memes. However, the development of the Solana gaming ecosystem has not yet achieved success that matches its scale, which is precisely the problem Sonic hopes to solve through technological innovation. With Sonic, developers can deploy their own dedicated SVM chains with a single click, thereby promoting more gaming narratives to land on Solana.

Sonic CEO Chris Zhu said, "Over the past two years, we have collaborated with hundreds of Web3 games to help them achieve monetization and asset issuance. We place great importance on Solana because it provides a complete set of tools and frameworks for gaming. We believe Sonic SVM will be the key to catalyzing the explosion of the Solana gaming ecosystem, and with our support, thousands of games will be able to land and enter the public eye."

Bitkraft partner Jens Hilgers stated, "The Mirror World team has demonstrated incredible resilience, adaptability, and creativity. Sonic SVM and HyperGrid will lead to a leap for Solana and the entire gaming ecosystem. We firmly believe that as Solana continues to attract market attention, it will become the future paradigm of Web3 gaming."

Sonic is developed by Mirror World Labs, a gaming company with a long-standing focus on the Solana ecosystem. Following a $4 million seed round financing in early 2022, this Series A funding will bring its total financing to $16 million. Mirror World Labs focuses on developing Solana gaming infrastructure, covering all stages of the game lifecycle and providing a full suite of technical solutions for game development.

About Sonic

Sonic is the first atomic SVM L2 on Solana, aiming to achieve a sovereign gaming economy that ultimately settles on Solana. Powered by the core technology HyperGrid developed by Mirror World, Sonic allows developers to deploy customized Sonic Solana Virtual Machines (SVM) by gridifying Solana, providing significant scaling advantages.

About Mirror World Labs

Mirror World Labs is the team behind Sonic, dedicated to amplifying the innovative potential of the Solana gaming ecosystem by providing a full suite of technical solutions covering the entire game lifecycle: Web2/Web3 login, NFT marketplace inheritance, wallet integration, NFT Launchpad, and customizable Solana Rollups solutions.
