ChainCatcher news, according to The Information, Apple is deprioritizing its new generation Apple Vision Pro headset, priced at $3,500, as it pushes forward with a long-term plan to launch a lower-priced version of the current device.

The Information cites a component supplier's report stating that as of April, 460,000 units of the Vision Pro had been produced, but orders as of August indicate that even with an expanded global supply, only an additional 100,000 units can be produced.

The report states that, in fact, Apple "has not prioritized a successor to the high-end Vision Pro over the past year," while accelerating efforts to "reduce the component costs of the first-generation model."
